What is an English Course Project?

An English Course project is an in-depth investigation of a topic worth learning more about. The goals of this project are to learn about the chosen topic, to put in practice all that you have learned in the English course as well as to improve your English communication skills. The project is usually undertaken by a small group of students within a class (3, most of the cases). This project consists of a written work and an oral presentation.

1. Making up the groups. Conformar los grupos.
2. Topic selection: Students think about a topic taking into account their interests. Students work motivated because, both the project and the topic, really interest them.

5. Planning: students answer to how are they going to learn about the topic? What instruments the students are going to use to obtain the information they need, such as: books, magazines, newspapers, databases, internet, videos, interviews, etc.

6. Writing the draft: After you have collected enough information for your project, write the draft where you define the titles and subtitles of your topic and develop the ideas of each one. Then look for help to review it. Finally, write the final written work

7. Preparing the final presentation: After you have finished writing your project, practice giving your speech (out loud) as often as you can. Try to get an audience of family or friends and, of course, among the partners of group, try to listen each other.
